A collection of names celebrating the beauty and variety of Arabic calligraphy.

Why names?

A name connects language with personal identity. The Arabic Names Project brings Arabic and international names to life through different Arabic calligraphy styles.

Nihad Taisir Nadam founded the project under its earlier name, NameArabic.com, which appears in his 2017 account and in Domain.ME’s 2022 profile. The collection is now presented at ArabicNames.Design.

In his 2017 account, Nihad described creating the project to share the beauty of Arabic calligraphy and build a database of names that people could explore. The archive preserves this focus on names and their visual expression.

لماذا الأسماء؟

الاسم جزء من هويتنا. يجمع هذا المشروع أسماء عربية وعالمية في تصاميم تُظهر تنوّع الخط العربي وجماله.

أسّس نهاد تيسير ندم المشروع الذي عُرف سابقًا باسم NameArabic.com. ورد هذا الاسم في منشوره عام 2017 وفي مقال Domain.ME عام 2022. وتُعرض الأعمال اليوم على ArabicNames.Design.

كتب نهاد في منشوره عام 2017 أنه أنشأ المشروع لمشاركة جمال الخط العربي وبناء مجموعة من الأسماء يمكن للجميع تصفّحها. ويواصل هذا الأرشيف تقديم الأعمال ضمن هذا الهدف.

    The beginning البداية

    Domain.ME’s profile, published on 14 June 2022, reports that Nihad began the Arabic Names Project that year. This is a later published account of the starting year.

Nihad is a creative director and Arabic branding expert whose practice includes Arabic typography and digital Arabic calligraphy. The Arabic Names Project forms part of his work with Arabic letterforms.
